About the Scholarship
We are delighted to launch the 2027 Young Performer Scholarship at Alize’s School of Singing.
Open to young performers aged 10–18 years, this scholarship will give one successful applicant the opportunity to receive a full year of training and development from January to December 2027.
We are looking for a young person with a genuine passion for singing and performing, a willingness to learn and the commitment to make the most of this exciting opportunity.

Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to young performers aged 10–18 years who have a genuine passion for singing and performing and would love the opportunity to develop their skills.
You do not need to be a current student of Alize’s School of Singing to apply, and previous formal singing lessons are not required.
The successful applicant must be able to commit to the scholarship from January to December 2027, attend lessons and classes regularly, practice between lessons and participate fully in the opportunities offered throughout the year.
What Are We Looking For?
You don’t need to be the most experienced singer or have years of training to apply. We are looking for young people who love music, enjoy performing and are excited about developing their skills.

Auditions
Following the application process, shortlisted applicants will be invited to audition at Alize’s School of Singing in October 2026.
Each shortlisted applicant will be asked to prepare two contrasting songs of their choice. The songs should demonstrate different aspects of the applicant’s voice, style and performance ability.
We recommend choosing two pieces that you enjoy singing, that suit your voice and that allow your individual personality as a performer to shine through.
The audition is an opportunity for us to hear your voice, see your potential and get to know you a little better as a performer.

Who can apply for the Young Performer Scholarship?

Do I need to be a current student of Alize’s School of Singing to apply?

Do I need previous singing lessons or performance experience?
No. Previous formal singing training is not required. We are looking for young performers who demonstrate musical potential, enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine desire to develop as a singer and performer.
What does the scholarship include?
The scholarship provides a full year of dedicated training from January to December 2027, including a weekly one-to-one singing lesson, a weekly group singing class, performance opportunities throughout the year and a recording experience. The scholarship is valued at over €2,000.
Do I have to attend the group singing class as well as my one-to-one lesson?
Yes. Both elements are an essential part of the scholarship programme. The successful applicant must commit to attending their weekly one-to-one singing lesson and weekly group singing class throughout the scholarship year.
Will my one-to-one lesson and group class be on the same day?
Not necessarily. The one-to-one lesson time will be arranged with the successful applicant, and an appropriate group class will also be selected. These may take place on different days.
Can the scholarship be completed online?
No. The Young Performer Scholarship is an in-person programme and cannot be completed online. The successful applicant must be able to attend their lessons and classes in person at Alize’s School of Singing.
What happens after I submit my application?
All applications will be reviewed after the closing date. Selected applicants will then be invited to attend an in-person audition at Alize’s School of Singing.
Will everyone who applies receive an audition?
No. Applications will be reviewed first, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to audition.
What will I need to prepare for the audition?
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to prepare two contrasting songs of their choice. We recommend choosing pieces that showcase different aspects of your voice, musicality and personality as a performer.
What does “two contrasting songs” mean?
Your two songs should demonstrate different sides of you as a singer. For example, you might choose one upbeat song and one slower song, or two songs with contrasting styles, moods or vocal qualities.
Are performances part of the scholarship?
Yes. Performance experience is an important part of the programme, and the successful applicant will be expected to take part in selected performance opportunities throughout the year.
What level of commitment is expected?
The scholarship is a year-long commitment running from January to December 2027. The successful applicant will be expected to attend their weekly training consistently, participate fully in the programme and approach the opportunity with enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn.
